An extremely hard worker, Betty held many positions throughout her life. As a young woman, she became a highly proficient seamstress at Garan, Inc. She also served many years in the food industry as manager of the House of Barbecue and with MSU Food Services, as well as enjoying her work at Aspen Bay Candle Company.
After retiring, Betty enjoyed assisting her husband, Stan, with his work as Manager and Tour Director for Starkville Buses. She enjoyed travelling on the bus tours across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. She enjoyed making new friends on each trip, developing many lifelong friendships. Betty and Stan specialized in Branson Tours, developing personal and professional relationships with many of the performers.
Betty's favorite hobby was gardening. She loved to be in her yard planting flowers, watering her yard, raking leaves and just being outside.
The most important thing in her life was her faith in Jesus Christ. She also served alongside her husband while he was a deacon and Gideon. She enjoyed serving on hospitality and benevolence committees. Betty had a very caring and generous heart, always more concerned about others than herself. She was a loyal member of the Friendship Sunday School Class at Bridgeway Church where she enjoyed participating in various projects, especially packing the Operation Christmas Child boxes.
