Bilbo McNeel Obituary
Mr. Bilbo McNeel, Jr., 71, passed away on September 11, 2025, at Diversicare of Eupora. Bilbo was born on May 10, 1954, in Gretna, Louisiana, to the late Bilbo, Sr. and Dorothy Massey McNeel. Bilbo built a legacy of hard work, devotion, and service to his faith and community. He worked in maintenance for Prestage Farms and was a self-employed hay and cattle farmer. He was proud to be a Master Mason in the Montpelier Masonic Lodge #220 F&AM, reflecting his commitment to fellowship. An active member of Pheba Baptist Church, he found joy and purpose serving with the Brotherhood. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He married Becky Thompson McNeel on May 18, 1973, in Pheba. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Norma Thompson. Visitation will be Monday, 12:00-2:00 P.M. at Pheba Baptist Church in Pheba. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Mr. Brad Latham officiating and assisted by Reverend Terry Rhodes. Masonic Graveside Rites will follow in Pheba Cemetery in Pheba. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Becky T. McNeel of Pheba: one daughter, Christy M. Latham (Brad) of Stewart: one son, Coby McNeel (Mary Katherine) of Mantee: five grandchildren, Brynn Latham Harvey (Bailey) of Eupora, Hanna Latham of Destin, Florida, Wyatt Latham of Stewart, Burklee and Grayson McNeel of Mantee two great-grandchildren, Bryar and Beckett Harvey of Eupora: three sisters, Diane Cole (Barry) of Mathiston, Merline White (Danny) of Pheba, and Betty Walker (Teddy) of Mantee: one brother, Tommy McNeel (Michelle) of Mantee: sister-in-law, Kay Davidson of Pheba, and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Wyatt Latham, Grayson McNeel, Bailey Harvey, Jonathan Walker, Ethan Williams, Jake Davidson, and Jon Cooper. Honorary Pallbearers will be Grady Prevost, George Gilreath, Gary McQuiston, Bobby Cotton, Tommy Coleman, George Snell, Mike Huffman, his many friends at Pheba Baptist Church, and the members of the Montpelier Masonic Lodge #220 F&AM.
