Bruce Shurden Obituary

Bruce Archie Shurden August 14, 1937 ~ April 13, 2025 Bruce Shurden, 87, passed away on April 13, 2025. He was born on August 14, 1937, to Archie Lee and Ora Christine Fulgham Shurden in Oktibbeha County, MS. Bruce married Shirley Wayne Shurden December 27, 1969, and was married for 53 years and was never apart until her passing in 2023. He was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church and helped with the music. He was there every time the doors opened as long as he was able. Bruce was always working. He retired after working for 35 years at Mississippi State University at the cafeteria in environmental services. Bruce is survived by three sisters Alice Faye Hinson of Starkville, Carol Lewellen of Georgia and Karen Corley (Stewart) of Alabama; two sister-in-laws Jimmie Dean Morgan of Louisville and Ruby Shurden of Starkville and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Archie Lee Shurden and Ora Christine Fulgham Shurden; one son Bruce Anthony "Bubba" Shurden; one brother Jimmy Lee Shurden; and one brother-in-law Tony Hinson
