Cyrus Walter Cornelius

Cyrus Walter Cornelius, 43, Cherokee, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Visitation will be Sunday, October 5, from 12 – 2p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Cherokee. The funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor John Bray officiating. Interment will be in Asphalt Rock Cemetery, Cherokee. Cyrus was a life-long resident of Cherokee. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Local 320 for 25 years. Cyrus was a cattle farmer and a member of Oldham Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Meagan Cornelius; children, Sawyer and Carolyne Cornelius; parents, Doc and Joetta Cornelius; sisters, Amy Jo Patton (Michael) and Natalie Waldrep (Daniel); father and mother-in-law, Keith and Kim Bonds; brother-in-law, Levi Bonds; sister-in-law, Morgan Bonds; two nieces, Sophia Waldrep and Cora Bonds Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
