Gina Crotts Obituary
Gina Dreher Crotts, 67, of New Albany, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Tupelo Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Born August 6, 1958, in Greenville, Mississippi, Gina was the daughter of Percy and Weesie Dreher. Attending the local school in her hometown, she was a proud graduate of Washington High School. On April 22, 1983, she married the love of her life, Kyle Crotts, and together they raised two daughters, Ashley and Brittney. In 1990, the family moved to Florence, Alabama, where Gina worked for SunTrust Bank and later for Dr. J.D. Smith, Podiatrist.
A woman who could always fill a room with love, laughter, and light, Gina was a friend to everyone she met. She believed every life mattered and made it her mission to ensure people felt loved and valued. Devoted above all to her family, Gina was a faithful wife, a nurturing mother, a caring sister and friend, and a proud "Doll" and "Granna" to her grandchildren.
She shared an especially close bond with her sisters, creating countless memories together. They loved when Melanie would take them to see the horses, spent cozy evenings gathered around the fireplace watching Hallmark movies, and enjoyed the delicious pound cake and tea cakes Donna made with love. Gina always enjoyed time at the Terrance with her sisters, joined by Melanie and Rochelle, catching up over a warm cup of coffee and laughter that always seemed to come easily when they were together.
Being "Doll" and "Granna" was so important to Gina, as it was a title she wore proudly to all her much adored grandchildren. She was always there biggest cheerleader, never missing a moment to clap the loudest at sporting events, beam with pride at school programs, or shower them with words of encouragement and love.
To her husband, she was not only a partner in life but also his truest companion and best friend. Many afternoons were spent together along the Tennessee River, sharing nothing more than each other's company, yet feeling as though they had the whole world. In 1990, the Crotts family also began a beloved camping tradition at McFarland Park, where countless weekends were spent making memories around the campfire, laughing, and simply enjoying time together - moments that remain some of their most cherished. The bond she shared with her daughters was one that could never be broken. Morning coffee chats at Ashley's home became treasured rituals, and Christmastime was made magical with days of baking, matching pajamas, and their cherished annual movie sleepovers. These traditions will forever echo her love and devotion, reminding her family of the joy she brought into every moment.
Though her time here feels far too short, Gina's legacy of love will endure forever. She taught us the importance of family, of making memories, and of finding joy in the simplest of moments. The sound of her laughter, the warmth of her embrace, and the light in her eyes will remain in the hearts of all who loved her. While our hearts ache at her absence, we take comfort in knowing she has entered her eternal rest, where her spirit will shine just as brightly as it did here on earth. And until the day we are reunited, we will carry her love with us always.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and I will give you rest." - Matthew 11:28
Those left to carry on her legacy include her husband, Kyle; daughters, Ashley Rickard (Jerrod) and Brittney Richardson (Ryan); grandchildren, Ava and Knox Rickard, Seth and Sawyer Richardson; sisters, Debbie Walker (Ron) and Donna Jones (Bill); and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Larry (Becke) and Wayne (Linda) Dreher.
A memorial service remembering Gina's wonderful life will be held at The Buffler House in Florence, Alabama, on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
