Imogene Hill Obituary

Imogene Hill, 95, of Starkville, passed away on May 6, 2025. She was known to many as "Mama Hill". She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur D. Hill; her parents, in-laws, two brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her sister, Ruby Muirhead; two sons, Edward (Becky) and Tracy; and one daughter, Judy; six grandchildren, Mary Jane, Christopher, Kevin, Melissa, Jennifer, and Kimberly; and eleven great grandchildren. She loved and cherished them all, reminding them to follow her to Heaven one day. She was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church in Starkville for many years. She was a former "charter member" of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Starkville, starting and building this church in the 1950's with several other families. She loved her Lord, family, and friends, taking care of them all with love and patience. As a younger lady, she was active in her church, Tops club, gardening, and helping family and friends whenever needed. She prayed constantly for everyone. Prayer was her ministry. A special "thank you" to Gentiva Hospice and Starkville Manor nurses. A memorial/graveside service will be at Mt. Airy Methodist Church in Ackerman, MS. The date and time will be announced at a future time.
