James Rickey Barker

James Rickey Barker, age 66, went home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2025. He was born May 12, 1958, to A.L. "Booger" and Anece Barker in Calhoun City. He was a graduate of Calhoun City High School. Rick married the love of his life, Bonnie, on June 29,1991. He worked in the furniture industry as well as saddle repair and retired from Eaton Custom Seating in September of 2023. Rick loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed carpentry work, music, and being outdoors. He was a drummer at West Pontotoc Pentecostal Church where he was a member for 30 years. Rick is survived by his wife Bonnie of 33 years; three daughters Rikki Ann Herdahl (Richard), Melissa Lackey (Carey), and Deana Tryon (Marcus); his grandchildren Marcus Graham, Devin Stewart, Kailyn Williams (Chase), Channing Lackey, Alexis Tutor (A.J.), Lyndsey Vernon, Ryker Tryon, Cruze Lackey, and Fisher Herdahl; one great grandchild Canon Williams; three siblings Thomas Barker, Perry Barker, and Judy Gregg; and many loving nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his parents A.L. and Anece Barker; mother-in-law Mildred Carter; and his brother Charles Wayne Barker. Pallbearers are Marcus Graham, Devin Stewart, Channing Lackey, Ryker Tryon, Cruze Lackey, Fisher Herdahl, Chase Long, and Donivon Owen. Visitation will be Thursday, January 23rd 5-7 p.m. and Friday, January 24th 12-1 p.m. and funeral service at 1 p.m., all held at West Pontotoc Pentecostal Church. Pastor Clint Long will officiate. Steve Morgan will give the eulogy, and Bishop Eugene Taylor will provide a tribute. Rick will be laid to rest at the Baldwin Memorial Gardens in Pontotoc, MS. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
