John Lawrence "Larry" Curtin, 85, of Mt. Penn, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of Lynn Marie (Kroener) Curtin with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Gantert) Curtin. Larry graduated from Central Catholic High School and went on to continue his education at St. Joseph's University, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard. Larry worked as an accountant for various companies, lastly for Jones Motor Company until his retirement. He was a long-time member of St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C., where he served as a member of the Serra Club for over 50 years.
In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his sons Greg Curtin, husband of Cindy, and Terrence Curtin, husband of Robin. He was the loving grandfather of five grandchildren, Robert, David, Jacob, Max and Ben. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Rev. Joseph, Bill, Peggy, Ted, and Jimmy, and his grandson Max.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated beginning at 11:00 am at St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C., 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading, PA 19606. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, PA 19605. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C.
