Katherine Junkins Obituary

Katherine Sue Junkins, age 84, of Kennedy, AL died June 2, 2025 at her residence. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Big Hill Baptist Church in Gordo with Bro. Ralph Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church. She was preceded in death by her father, William Charlie Hilbun; mother, Mary Lou Jarman Douglas; son, Joseph Timothy Neely; sister, Dorothy Lou Tuggle and brother, Denver Charlie Hilbun. Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Freddie Morris Junkins; daughters, Tammy Stevens (Steve), Sonya Neely Blanton and Debbie Steele (David); sons, Charles Neely (Kym), Mike Junkins and Chad Junkins (Alice); sister, Teresa Sanderson (Joe); brothers, Roy Hilbun and Devon Hilbun; seventeen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Katherine was born March 16, 1941 in Aberdeen, Mississippi. She was a member of Big Hill Baptist Church and a retired beautician. Pallbearers will be Brandon Blanton, Brayden Graham, Bradley Junkins, Titus Walker, Charlie Neely, Carson Junkins and Zachary Baker. Honorary Pallbearers are Tanner Blanton, William Ardoin, Michael Neely, David Neely and Mitch Junkins.
