Marjorie Beard

Marjorie Louise Price Beard, from the Poolville Community, died on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Sanctuary Hospice at the age of 101. Born May 9, 1924 in Union County to William Frank Price and Ludie Pickens Price. She was a retired factory worker. Marjorie was a faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church and the JOY Sunday School Class for as long as her health allowed her to. She loved spending time with her family, traveling, and sitting on her porch. She spent many hours sewing, cross-stitching, quilting, and making ceramics. Any day of the week at 9:00am, you could find her with peanut butter, toast, and a cup of coffee in hand. She is survived by three sons, John David Beard (Christi), Mike "Buddy" Beard (Edna), and Dean Beard (Martha), five grandchildren, Jennifer Galloway, Deana Willard, Jessica Davis, Joshua Sabinson, Jonathan Sabinson, eight great-grandchildren, Justin Thompson, Shawn Thompson, Bethany Barron (Ryan), Dalton Galloway, Adam Galloway, Hunter Willard, Alex Willard, Adam Louwien, two great-great grandchildren, Stella and Olivia Barron, a special niece, Patricia Aston Glover, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Alexander Beard, her granddaughter, Kristie Beard Thompson and one brother, William Foster Price, three sisters, Maurine Price Aston, Orna Price Dye, and Vergie Price. Service will be on Friday October 10, at 10am. Visitation will be Thursday 5:00 – 7:00pm and Friday 9:00 until the start of the service at 10:00am all at United Funeral Service.
