Mary Sue Ales

Mary Sue White Ales, 58, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025 at Progress Health in Batesville. Though she spent the last few years of her life in a nursing home, she never lost her spirit. She deeply loved her sons-always with humor and affection, even in the moments when they tested her patience, as all children do. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for storytelling that brought laughter to those around her. She will be fondly remembered and missed by many of the staff at the nursing home, who grew to love her, not just as a resident, but as a friend. She formed deep bonds with her roommates over the years, especially Mrs. Frances Cain, who preceded her in passing and Mrs. Evelyn McHale, whom she cherished like a lifelong friend. She was always so grateful for the kindness of others, lighting up with joy whenever someone came to visit. Her heart was big and her kindness extended even to those she barely knew. Her warmth, laughter and love will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Services will be Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 4:00pm at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors, sons, Chris Ales (Jade) and Daniel Ales (Ashley); grandchildren, Michael and Gracie Ales, Joshua Knighton, Justin and Julian Burchett; brothers, Robert, Michael and Kenneth White; and sisters, Jessica Allen and Brenda Gault. Preceded in death by, father, Marion White; mother, Louise Hamm White; and husband, William "Bill" Ales. Pallbearers, Joshua Knighton, Justin Ellison, Wayne White and Danny Simmons.
