Mildred Abbott Obituary

Mildred Ann Black Meyers Abbott, 57, was born on May 22, 1968 in Mississippi to the late Jimmy Black and Alice Gray Black. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her son, James Dustin Meyers; brother, James Black; and sister, Millie Black. Mildred was survived by her husband, Robert Abbott of Sturgis, MS; daughters, Bethaney Rodgers of Sturgis, MS, and Stormey (Stephen) Metts of Louisville, MS; step-sons, Tommie Abbott of Mantee, MS, and Grover Abbott (Hannale) of Starkville, MS; brother, William Black (Betty) of Sturgis, MS; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, September 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Sturgis. Rev. Kevin Black will conduct the service.
