Peggy Simons Obituary

Peggy Sue Simons, age 79, of Columbus, MS passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 pm Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Authentic Church in Columbus, MS with Bro. Craig Blaylock and Bro. Bobby Stitcher officiating. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Thomas Swedenburg and Mary Lee Booth Swedenburg; son, Frankie Ray; sister, Linda Lawson and brothers, William, Jerry and Edward Swedenburg. Survivors include her son, Stoney Ray; brother, Jimmy Swedenburg (Paulette); sisters, Lorene Stitcher (Bobby) and Lois Townsend (Monty); five grandchildren, Summer (John Tyler Helton), Michelle, Brandon, Harley and Alexis and five great-grandchildren, Mya Wright, Ayden Lovato, Ava Ray, Adalyn Stokes and Cohen Stokes. Peggy was born December 8, 1945 in Ethelsville, Alabama. She spent over 25 years as a highly respected employee of Shipley's Do-nuts and was a known for her dedication to her customers and community. Peggy loved spending time with her family and cherishing time with her grandchildren. Peggy will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering integrity and love for her family.
