Tina Red Obituary

Okolona-Tina Rena Norwood Red, a lifelong resident of Chickasaw County, departed this life from her Okolona residence on Saturday, August 16, 2025. She was 57 years old. Born in Amory on Feb. 23, 1968, Tina was the oldest of 4 children born to John Lamar and Edith Mae Jolly Norwood. She attended Okolona Public Schools graduating from Okolona High School in 1986. On June 21,1986, she married Donald Wayne Red at New Hope Methodist Church, a Church where she grew up and worshiped. To this union was born 2 children, Matthew and Alley. Tina worked in local factories early in her life, then worked several years at Okolona Drugs with the late Jerry Morgan and staff. At the time of her death, she was employed as a Clerk in the Chickasaw County Justice Court in Okolona. Tina was a "family first" lady, doting over her children and grandchildren with a perfect love. She had a big heart full of concern and guidance when it came to family-and friends. "Squatch", as Tina was called by her grandchildren, gave them a full measure of her time and affirmation. A strong lady with a sterling personality, Tina made a difference in many lives in her all too short earthly pilgrimage and will be missed by all. A service celebrating her life will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with her brother, Cliff Norwood speaking. Burial will follow in the Red Family Cemetery on their land. Visitation will be from 1PM-3 PM Tuesday at Holland- Okolona Chapel. Condolences may be posted on Tina's memorial page at hollandfuneraldirectors.com Leaving behind to share memories are her husband, Donald Wayne Red of Okolona; her son, Matthew Red and wife, Anissa of Okolona and Alley Stewart and husband, Tanner of New Hope in Lowndes County; her grandchildren, Brayden Red, Aubree Red, Corbyn Red, Aiden Ferguson, Culley Ferguson and Kasey Stewart; her parents, John Lamar and Edith Norwood of Okolona, her siblings, Tammy Norwood of Amory and twins, Clint Norwood (Tina) of Mooreville and Cliff Norwood (Stacy) of Tupelo; her in laws, Robert Leon Red and Emily Arthurene Red of Okolona and their families`; her nieces and nephews, Paul Red, Ashley McDonald, Laura Shaw, Evan Red, April Red, Anna Grace Norwood, Sadie Norwood and Wesley Norwood; other close relatives and a great number of friends.
