VARLIE OWEN (V.O.) RASBURY, Sulligent, AL - Family and many friends of V.O. Rasbury are saddened of his passing on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. V.O. was a native of Sulligent, AL but spent 62 years of his life riding the Rodeos of northern Texas after his graduation at Winfield High School. V.O. was the son of the late Effie Jane McGraw Rasbury and Dexter Owen Rasbury. He was the brother of the late Willie Mae Robbins and of the late Joyce Hugensmith. V.O. is survived by his step-son Jimi Dorland of Big Springs, TX and 4 step-daughters, Sally Stewart of Lubbock, TX, Jamie Killian, Snyder, TX and Sherri Young of Gail, TX and his Sister Wanda McKoy of Trussville, AL. He is also survived by his nieces Sherry Smith (husband, Jeff) of Leeds, AL, Jayna Moore (husband, Lamar) of Trussville, AL and Vickie Robbins of Bremen, Alabama. V.O. is also survived by several great and great great nieces and nephews. Also surviving him is his great friend John Lochridge who cared for him in so many ways right up to his death. Other family type friends from Texas who loved him and always stayed in touch with him were Joe Joiner, Ricky & Debbie King, Barry Byrd, Lisa Starkey and Cindy Hastings along with so many more too numerous to name. A Memorial Service will be held at Wesley Chapel Community Church in Detroit at 4pm on Sunday March 23rd. Friends will be received immediately after the services.
