Willie Roy Mabry

FULTON – Willie Roy Mabry died Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was 81 years old. Born March 2, 1944 in Nettleton to Luther "Kid" Mabry and Lorine Morris Mabry, he lived most of his life in the Plantersville/Nettleton areas of Lee County. Willie, with his parents' encouragement, professed his faith in Jesus as his Lord and Savior at an early age at Jerusalem MB Church in the Union Community of Lee County. He was a truck driver for 60 years. He worked for the Tri State Truck Center for 33 years as a certified diesel mechanic and also drove trucks for them. He was also a truck driver for Horner Box until his health declined a few months ago. He loved his family, loved laughter and joking, and made a difference in his 81 years with his children and their offspring as well as his work associates and many friends. He will be sorely missed. A celebration of life service will take place at 3 PM on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo with the twins, Pastors Donnell and Lindell Nichols officiating. A visitation / wake will be at Holland-Tupelo from 1 PM to service time Saturday only. Burial will take place at Jerusalem MB Church Cemetery south of Plantersville. Jones (Michael), Willenda R. Mabry, Matthew M. Mabry, Aquino V. Jones (Shaniqua), and Orian J. Mabry; grandchildren, Jeremy, Eric, Nalini, Hannah, Mary "Callie", Devin, Honor, Brendan, Avion, Aubree, Lai'La, So'Mia, and Xena; great-grandchildren, Eric Jr., Jamison, Naomi, and Joshua; siblings, Myrtle Westmoreland, Lavern Miller "Bonnie", and Doris ( Ivory) Spiller; his in-laws, Jackie Collins (Terry), Adrian Jones (Cassandra), Rickey Jones and Larry Jones; his God-daughter, Emiery Pulliam; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kid and Lorine Mabry, and siblings, Fannie Pearl Burt, Isolene Littleton, John L. Mabry, L.W. Mabry, Murl Mabry, Clifford Mabry, Ella Mae Whitfield, Lucian Mabry, and George Robert Mabry. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
