David Wentz Obituary

DAVID A. WENTZ, 69 years old, was born in Richwood, WV on Halloween, October 31, 1955, and husband to Donna G. (Canfield) Wentz for 47 years. But alas he went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, with most of his family around him. Yet another victim of cancer.
David was the son of the late George Donald Wentz and the late Sherley Iline Simmons Wentz. He was preceded in death by his only sister, Teresa Elizabeth Wentz (52) in January of 2022; his maternal grandparents, Ezra and Leafie Simmons; and paternal grandparents, Richard and Sarah Ina Wentz.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; three children, Jeramey Wentz (Melissa), Jessica Wentz (Justin), and Joshua Wentz (Constance); and eleven wonderful grandchildren, Brian, Paige, Spencer, Dylan (Lilly), James, Nick (Pearce), Madelynn, Allison, Kylee, and Hattie.
David was a devoted member of Peoples Baptist Church, worked at several coalmines, and could be seen hanging out at BMW till he retired. He then went to work at Cabela's, spending his free time hunting, fishing, collecting knives, and always cheering for the Mountaineers. David also spent time volunteering for the Webster Springs Volunteer Fire Department.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in David's honor to Webster Springs Volunteer Fire Department, 109 Baker St., Webster Springs, WV 26288 or Peoples Baptist Church, 101 Woodside Circle, Simpsonville, SC 29681.
Interment will be in WV at a later date.
David will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
