Laurie McCartney Obituary


Laurie Ann (Flickinger) McCartney. Laurie, a lifetime area resident, passed away suddenly on December 22, 2023 at age 60, after a short illness. She was born in Elyria and graduated from Midview High School.
She worked many years cleaning condominiums. Most of her last 25 years have revolved around her husband, Michael and constant care of her handicapped son, Logan.
She is survived by 2 brothers (Bob and Bill Flickinger), husband Michael, son Logan, her father-in-law and mother - in- law Randall & Mona McCartney of Webster County, West Virginia and by her nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Betty Flickinger and sister Sue, of Belden.
The family received friends on Thursday December 28,2023 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St, Grafton, OH 44044. A service followed, officiated by Rev. David Walker, pastor of Belden Methodist Church.
After the service, fellowship and refreshments were available at the Belden Methodist Church, 36130 St Rt 303, Grafton, OH 44044. Donations can be made to the Michael McCartney family, 36480 Chestnut Ridge Rd, North Ridgeville, OH 44039 for her son's care. On-line condolences may be left at www.dukefuneralhome.com
