Andrew William Lamb

ANDREW WILLIAM LAMB, 58, died on June 5, 2024. He was born on October 12, 1965, in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of the late Rev. Dr. Richard Charles Lamb and Katharine Sattes Lamb.
Andy graduated from Jackson High School in Jackson, Missouri, where he enjoyed playing the trumpet, being on the debate team, and was an Eagle Scout. He attended Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and earned both master's and doctoral degrees in philosophy from University of Notre Dame.
After he graduated from University of Chicago Law School, he worked with several law firms, as well as the United States Department of Justice as a civil attorney. Andy put his Christian faith in action by working as a lawyer for several years against the human trafficking problem in the Philippines, through International Justice Mission.
Andy also studied at Dallas Theological Seminary taking theology and Bible classes. He enjoyed teaching at the University of Georgia and in the John Leland Center for Theological Studies. Andy was a faithful member of Grace Community Church in Arlington, Virginia, and enjoyed co-leading a bible study group for a number of years.
One of the joys of Andy's life was marrying Soraida Odron Lamb on Sunday, January 14, 2024. God also blessed him with a stepdaughter, Sam Andrea Odron.
Andy was predeceased by his father, Richard C. Lamb. Surviving family members are his wife, Soraida Odron Lamb; his stepdaughter, Sam Andrea Odron; his mother, Katharine S. Lamb; his siblings, Elizabeth L. Marshall (Gary) and Richard C. Lamb Jr., as well as his niece, Sarah K. MacGillivray (Sean), and his nephew, John H. Marshall.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 13, 2024, in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church, 16 Leon Sullivan Way, Charleston, West Virginia. Interment will follow at Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans, West Virginia.
Visitation will begin one hour prior at the church.
