Ann Moore Obituary

ANN MARIE BARKER MOORE, 69, of Winfield, passed suddenly into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 24, 2024, ending her long fight with Muscular Dystrophy.
Ann was born in Newtown, Pennsylvania to the late Ada Marie White Barker and John Barker. She later moved to South Carolina, where she graduated from Anderson College with a bachelor's degree in childhood education. Ann married her husband David in 1983. They lived in Dayton, Ohio, for 7 years, in Lilburn, Ga., for 21 years and for the last 11 years in Winfield.
Ann was a very warm and loving person who always had a smile for everyone. She loved her family and was a very caring and devoted mother and wife. Her daughter, Rebecca, was already waiting for her in heaven when she arrived. Some of Ann's finest moments were showing love and care to her daughter who died at age 5 of cerebral palsy. She was a devoted and loving mother to her two children, John and Carmen, who will grieve her passing. Ann was a very loving wife, a loyal companion and best friend to her husband, David, who will miss her smile and her love tremendously. She also leaves behind a brother, Sam Barker.
Ann was a member of Cross Lanes Baptist Church. She was a leader of AWANA classes there and at previous churches for many years and loved working with children. She also served in church bus ministries, special needs children's classes, food pantries and as Sunday School teacher throughout her life. Over the past 10 years, she has shown tremendous courage, patience, and a joyful and content spirit as she struggled with declining strength because of muscular dystrophy. Her positive spirit and her love and care about others, even as she struggled with her own disabilities, was a model of grace to those around her.
Ann is now with her Lord who she served well and faithfully throughout her life.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2024, at Cross Lanes Baptist Church, Cross Lanes, WV with Pastor Seth Polk officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, WV.
Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the church.

I'm thinking of Ann and Dave and all the Moores in this difficult week. I met kind and quiet Ann during her engagement and have been happy to hear over the years that she and Dave had children and several rewarding ministries. She was loving and loved, promises fulfilled, a gift to many.
