Anna F. Rowsey Agee

ANNA F. ROWSEY AGEE, 88, of Hugheston, WV, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025, at home after a lengthy illness.
Anna's commitment to education began when she earned her GED, a milestone she was proud to achieve as an adult. Determined to further her learning, she later graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from WV Institute of Technology. Anna dedicated over 25 years to the payroll department in the Montgomery General Hospital, where she was known for her expertise and reliability.
In addition to her professional work, Anna was a devoted member of the General Federation of Womens Clubs (GFWC) - WV Woman's Club of Montgomery for more than 25 years. She served as club president and was instrumental in launching the local Montgomery Library. Her countless efforts earned her the GFWC WV Capitol District Purple Heart for her outstanding volunteer work in the community. Anna cherished organizing fundraising events, where she rallied volunteers and inspired others with her infectious enthusiasm.
Anna's faith guided much of her life, and she was deeply involved with the Hughes Creek Community Church. She served as church treasurer and taught Sunday School for several years, touching the lives of many through her creative lessons and heartfelt guidance.
Family was central to Anna's life. She shared a special bond with both of her daughters. She delighted in visiting her eldest daughter in many places, including overseas locations during her daughter's service in the Air Force. She took immense pride in both her daughters' accomplishments, loved them fiercely, and was their steadfast supporter through every chapter of their lives.
Anna's legacy is one of devotion -- to her family, her faith, and her community. She is remembered for her tireless volunteerism, her gentle leadership, and the warmth she shared with all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Keith Agee, parents Frances Oiler Hudnall and John Rowsey, brother James Rowsey, and sister Clara Rowsey Givens.
Surviving are her daughters, Mona Agee-Glazener and husband Jerry of San Antonio, TX, Lisa Agee-Slayden and husband Richard, of Hugheston, WV; sister Melva Rowsey Agee of Elkview, WV; three step granddaughters, one step grandson, three step great granddaughters and two step great grandsons; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, at the Hughes Creek Community Church with Pastor Gary Tucker officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow, WV.
