Anna "Harriette" Hastings

ANNA LEWIS "HARRIETTE" HASTINGS, 96, of Pinch, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord and her Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Hubbard Hospice in Charleston.
Born on May 30, 1929, in Charleston, WV, to Earl and Anna Canterbury, Harriette lived a long and beautiful life grounded in faith, family, and service. She devoted her life to caring for others, always putting her loved ones before herself.
For 62 years, she was the beloved wife and partner of Sam Hastings. Together, they shared a lifetime of love. After several years as a Secretary at Dickinson Fuel, she left and became Sam's full-time bookkeeper for their Farrier Business.
Harriette was a dedicated member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, where she served as Head Usherette and volunteered selflessly for many years. Her unwavering faith was the cornerstone of her life and an inspiration to all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, Sam Hastings; her son, James Patterson (Diana); her daughter, Denise McClanahan; and her grandchildren, Carly, Sasha, Natasha, and Krista. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Chris.
She also leaves behind great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends, all of whom were blessed by her love and example.
Her greatest joys were found in spending time with family, attending church, and living each day as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and servant of the Lord.
Her legacy of love, faith, and strength will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

The service will begin 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Hafer Funeral Home, with Pastor Lee Swor Officiating.
Visitation will be from Noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
