Betty White Obituary
BETTY LOU WHITE, 88 years of age, of Calvin, departed this world for her Heavenly Home on Monday, June 9, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was the daughter of the late Edgar V. and Bertha Wills Allen and was born at Richwood, March 12, 1937. Betty was the former co-owner of White Auto Sales in Summersville and employee of Raygold Cabinet factory at Fenwick. She was a member of the Alderson Baptist Church at Craigsville, enjoyed bird watching, traveling to the Amish country with her late husband, Donald R. White, and was most happy spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter Melinda "Mindy" White, and siblings, Russell Allen, Genevia Grose, Phyllis Facemire and Frances Grose.
Surviving: Son, Darrell White (Tonia) of Craigsville; Daughters, Sharon Harlow (Mark), Wanda Clutter, all of Calvin, and Lura White (Charlie Justice), of Summersville; 8 Grandchildren; and 11 Great-Grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to all of Betty's caregivers. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 13th in the Alderson Baptist Church, at Craigsville, with Pastor Samuel Luppino and Pastor Ed Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the WV Memorial Gardens at Calvin. Friends may call at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening.
The Waters Funeral Chapel in Summersville is in charge of the arrangements.

I loved having a close friendship with her, We went to grade school and high school together and would talk on the phone every now and then to catch up, all these years. I lived just out the road from her some yrs ago until I moved to Braxton County. She was one of my special friends. i will miss her so much. Prayers and hugs for all her family. I knew Lura and Mindy better than i knew her other children, God bless and comfort you all. She was a special person.

I’m so sorry Betty that I didn’t get to see you!! I will definitely not ever forget knowing you and Mr. White! The best customers I’ve ever had ! Tell Mr. White I miss him when you get to him! Tell him I’m still waiting on my Dodge Neon he was going to get me! You rest in peace!
