David Abbott Obituary
DAVID M. ABBOTT SR of Sissonville, WV left this world in the quiet hours of the morning of March 21, 2025 at home.
Born at home on October 24, 1940 to Jesse and Clela (Roberson) Abbott in Dehue, West Virginia.
Survived by Patricia (Ray) Abbott, the love of his life, his wife of 62 year. His brothers, Larry Abbott of Sissonville and Greg Abbott of South Charleston. His daughter, Vicki (Timmy) Young of Sissonville and son, David (Kelly) Abbott Jr. of Kenna. His nephew, Paul (Debbie) Wilkinson of Pinewood, SC, who was more of a son and brother. Grandchildren: Deidra (Rick Brokaw) Abbott of Kenna, Heather Young of Sissonville, Hannah (Jimmy) Harvey, Trey Abbott of Ripley, and Hayden (Brittanie) Young of Sissonville. Great grandchildren: Oak, Bella, Bentley, James, Arthur, Vallie, and Julian. Several nieces and nephews. And his beloved shih tsu, Molly.
After graduating from Stonewall Jackson High School, he attended WV State College. He then served with honor in the USAR and WVANG. He retired from John E. Amos Power Plant as a machinist. He taught machine shop in the evenings at Ben Franklin. He enjoyed several hobbies throughout the years including: holding National AMA championships, participating in power lifting, golfing, hunting, and fishing.
Proceeded in death by his parents and sisters, Glenna Wilkinson of Pinewood SC and Joan Reed of Poca, WV.
Spreading of his ashes will be on Memorial Day, May 26 2025, at the Huddleston-Abbott Cemetery during the annual family reunion.

My condolences to Dave Abbott's family. I knew Dave from the many years at the Amos plant. Although Dave and I didn't work in the same department, our paths crossed often, and it was always a pleasure to stop and spend a few minutes talking to Dave. My best vision of Dave was in the machine shop where he worked. Throughout the years, I had made many friends at Amos, Dave Abbott was one of the best. God Bless Dave and family, one day we shall all meet again, in a place of no pain nor death.

I am so sorry to hear of Dave´s passing. I worked with Dave for years at the Amos Plant. We was one of best friends there. We deer hunted and rode motorcycles together. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. RIP ol´ friend we will meet again. Steve Deahl
