Dee Bartoe Obituary

62, of Nitro, WV celebrated her heavenly homecoming on Saturday, December 10, 2023 surrounded by her family following a brave battle with cancer.

Dee was proceeded in death by her father Thomas A. Robertson of St. Albans, WV.

Dee was born in Charleston, WV. She attended St. Albans High School, Class of 1979 where she enjoyed her time as a Majorette in the Red Dragon Marching Band. She graduated from WVSU with a degree in Dietetics. It was during that time that she married her loving husband, Carl Allen Bartoe, who would unwaveringly stand by her side for the next 42 years. Dee was a dedicated mother and best friend to Kaitlin and Heather and a wonderful Noni to her grandchildren. Those around her will forever cherish her warm smile, kind service and loving friendship.

She worked at Thomas Memorial Hospital as a Dietitian and a member of the Food Service Team for 37 years. Dee is a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of St. Albans.

Those left to carry on her legacy include her husband Carl A. Bartoe of Nitro, WV; her daughters Heather Bartoe of Nitro, WV and Kaitlin Lakhani (Jay) of Huntington, WV; her grandchildren Sonali, Micah, Joanna, Asha and Daniel Lakhani of Huntington, WV; her mother Jo Anne Robertson of St. Albans, WV and her brother Jeff Robertson of St. Albans, WV.

Please join us in celebrating her life on Saturday December 16, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of St. Albans, located on the corner of 2nd Street and 6th Avenue.

The family will be receiving friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a service to begin at 5 p.m. with Pastor Joel M. Harpold officiating.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at the Joan C. Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center and Cabell Huntington Hospital for their kindness and service. A special thank you to Dr. Muhammad Jamil, Dr. Scott Mitchell, Dr. Paul Adedoyin for their compassionate care.

Dear Carl,I just learned very early this am of Dee´s passing and am shocked and saddened.I am so sorry for your loss and for that of your entire family.I remember Dee clear back to old Carbide Camp days and that she was a majorette for St.Albans HS.She was a true lady and a gifted,loyal,and dedicated asset to Thomas Hospital.Again,I am so sorry and will keep you and yours in my thoughts and prayers.Sincerely,Melodie McLaughlin Saunders.

Kaitlin and family our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of sorrow. I worked with your mom for a few years at Thomas. She always had a big smile when she greeted you. I also remember her from your high school days. She loved her girls and grands.
