Gary Williams Obituary

GARY WAYNE WILLIAMS, 66, of Cabin Creek WV, passed away of a sudden death with his kids by his side on June 28, 2024.
Gary was born October 9, 1957 in Charleston, WV to Maxwell and Nellie Williams. He was an East Bank Pioneer. He was employed by Jan Care and was a volunteer at East Bank Fire Department in his younger years, then he went on to AEP Kanawha River Plant where he spent 25 + years until it shut down then he moved over to Meter Reading for UKV for 5 + years. After many years with AEP, he went on to work for Marfork Coal Company where he ran dozer up until his retirement.
Gary was known for having a huge heart and making everyone around him laugh. He spent most of his days being with at least one of his children or grandchildren, going to his grandson TJ's baseball games, where he was the BIGGEST fan, or hanging out with his dogs who he adored the most.
Gary was proceeded in death by his father and mother Maxwell and Nellie Williams and both of his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Left to cherish all his wonderful memories are his children, Jason Williams of Oak Hill, Tara Williams of Oak Hill, Alexalea Dunlap (Troy Whitt) of Gallagher, and Summer Dunlap of Glasgow; grandchildren, Jacob Burdette, Troy (TJ) Whitt, Waylon Tucker, Wade Tucker, Willow Whitt, Scarlett Williams; great grandchildren, Alexandra, Greyson, and Kingsley Burdette. Special friends Rachel Dunlap and Terry Lang. He had many close friends who he considered family, and he was uncle and pawpaw to most that knew him.
Gary had the biggest heart of anyone we ever met. He took in the homeless and gave his last dollar to the hungry. He never found wrong in anyone he met and always said no one knows the back story of a person's life. He always had his hand out to help anyone who needed it. He was truly his kids and grandkids' best friend, and he will be loved and missed by each one of them until the day they meet again.
Services will be held at O'Dell Funeral Home located at 1301 Fayette Pike Montgomery, WV 25136 on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, visitation from 5 - 7 p.m., and the funeral will begin at 7 p.m.
