James Matheney Obituary
Jim was born on June 7, 1945 in Charleston to Joseph and Reba Matheney and was the youngest of three children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Reba, and his sister Dixie Conley.
Jim was an Army veteran where he served as a Lieutenant during the Vietnam War. He was a 1963 graduate of St. Albans High School and attended WV State College until going into the army. After leaving the military, Jim became a small business owner in Charleston, WV. He was one of the founding members of the former Calculator Sales and Service and then went on to own and operate the former General Information Systems where he led the computer modernization of magistrate and circuit courts throughout the state of WV.
Jim is survived by his long-term companion Denise Copley; and children, Jeff Matheney (Jennifer), and Nikki Oliver (Matt). He has 6 grandchildren, Addison, Abigail, Reagan, Mattie, Jacob, and James. He is survived by his sister Judie O'Brian of Chicago, Illinois. Jim was also loved and cared for by Denise's children Brandon and Shannon.
A celebration of life is planned for July 6 at Angela's On the River in St. Albans. Friends and family are invited to stop by between 5 to 7 p.m., to share memories and stories with one another.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hershel "Woody" Williams VA Medical Center (581) in Huntington, WV.

So very sorry to hear about Jimmy passing. I have so many fond memories of playing golf with him, uncle Joe and dad. I wish I could stop by and see you all but I am living in Texas now . Please know I´ll be thinking about you.
