JoAnn Ramella-Wise Obituary


JOANN RAMELLA-WISE, of Charleston, WV beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born on February 25, 1937, in Nitro, WV, to the late Ina Opal Ramella.
JoAnn lived a life full of kindness, strength and unwavering love for those around her.
She married Gary Wise on August 28, 1982, and together they built a life full of love.
Some of JoAnn's greatest joys were caring for her grandchildren, traveling to New England with Gary, and visiting her daughter in Austin, Texas.
JoAnn will be remembered for her kind spirit, sense of humor, generosity and faith.
Among the many left to cherish her memory are, George Ramella, Greg Ramella, Mike Ramella, Cecilia Moore, Diane Plantz, Steve Wise, Karen Wallen, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life Gary Wise, her beloved son, Charles Jay Ramella, and her cherished grandson, Berkley Stuart Glascock.
A celebration of her life will be held September 18, 2025 at 12 Noon at Floral Hills Cemetery, Sissonville, WV.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Kanawha Valley,
1606 Kanawha Blvd, W Charleston, WV 25387, or to Elizabeth Memorial United Methodist Church, 108 Oakwood Rd., Charleston, WV 25314.
Her warmth, love and laughter will be dearly missed and will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
