Kenneth Bostic Obituary


KENNETH RAY "KENNY RAY" BOSTIC, 71, of Greenville, SC, passed away on October 8, 2025.
Born on March 3, 1954, in Charleston, WV, he grew up on Cabin Creek WV. Ken valued hard work and cherished his family and friends. Kenny Ray briefly served in the Navy in 1971, receiving an honorable discharge after a short training period. He then embarked on a long career in coal mining, working mostly with Carbon Fuel from 1971 until 1989, before transitioning to maintenance roles for the cities of Simpsonville and Greenville, SC. A man who relished the simplicity of outdoor life, Kenneth enjoyed hunting, fishing, and indulging in his love for westerns. His commitment to his family was unwavering, demonstrated by the deep bonds he formed over the years.
Ken is survived by his sister, Tish Jarrell; brothers, Larry, Wayne (Kathy), Rog (Tee), and Jeff (Danette); daughter, Tammy (Kevin); sons, Bill, and Larry (Jamie); grandchildren, Clint (Stephanie), Tia (Steven), Chavis (Jessica), Tyler (Chloe), Hunter (Aniston), and Hagen; and great-grandchildren, Brennan, Brycen, Lilly, Lilah, Raeana, Charlotte, Ellie, Carter, and Harlee. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Bostic; mother, Minnie Pearl Layton Bostic; brother, Rick; sister, Kitty Foster; wife, Vicki Lynn Gray Bostic; son, Kenneth "Ray Ray" Bostic Jr.; and grandson, Austin Bostic.
A service to celebrate Kenny Ray's life will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, in the mausoleum at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens in Glasgow, with burial to follow. Pastor Herman Freeman will officiate the ceremony.
