Linda Horton Obituary

LINDA CAROL HORTON, 65, of Charleston gained her angel wings after a short illness on August 20, 2025. She was surrounded by her closest family.
Linda loved being outdoors and spent most of her free time there. Whether hiking through the woods, playing in her yard and many flower beds, or just sitting in her lounge chair watching either WVU or those Dallas Cowboys play football through her window, outside was where she wanted to be. She spent many years employed at Michaels art and hobby store then retired from Sleep Inn of Charleston after 12 years of service. She dearly loved her family and her cats-both of which she had an abundance.
Linda is survived by her brother Steve Horton and wife Sandy of Charleston and by her sister Debbie Bostic of Charleston, as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Linda will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Horton of Charleston, her brothers, John Jr and wife Bobby of Chesapeake OH, Michael and wife Charlotte of Belle, WV and her Sister Ruth Phillips of Dunbar, WV.
Linda's family will hold a vigil of remembrance at North Charleston Episcopal Church on September 13 at 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kanawha-Charleston Animal Shelter at 1248 Greenbrier St, Charleston, WV 25311 or the Children's Home Society of WV, 1422. Kanawha Blvd E, Charleston, WV 25301.
