Loretta Shuster Obituary

Loretta Good, age 91 passed away at home in Minnesota on Aug 30, 2025 with family right by her side. She is deeply loved by her 2 daughters, her 4 grandchildren, her son-in-law, her big family and extended family in West Virginia, MN, MD, NC, SC, MEX, CA, PR, BS, FL, KY, OH, TN, PA, AZ and many friends.

Loretta's first career was modeling in Charleston West Virginia, then opening her own modeling school there, and later making her way to working in New York City.

Her later career was at the University of Minnesota, becoming the Senior Administrative Director of the Department of Family Practice in the Medical School. She said that working at the U for 30 years was the college education she never got to have.

Loretta always remembered her WV roots and deeply treasured her eight siblings and their families. She spent countless hours researching family history and writing stories from memories of growing up on a farm in the 1930s -50s, living in Jackson, Putnam, and Kanawha counties in West Virginia.

Loretta leaves behind her love of nature, gardens, good home cooking, homegrown tomatoes, baking cakes, cornbread & biscuits, cooked apples, keeping up with current events, telling funny stories, reading, writing, researching & always learning until the end.

A private gathering will be planned for a later date.
