Martha Francis Gresham

MARTHA FRANCIS (SCHMIDT) GRESHAM, 98, of South Charleston, departed this life Thursday, February 13, 2025 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington.
She was born October 12, 1926 in Charleston, WV. The daughter of the late, Charles J. Schmidt and Olive F. (Hamm) Schmidt. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Reginald P. Gresham; and one son, Charles F. Gresham.
Martha worked for the Avalon Animal Hospital early on and then moved on to the Department of Highways for the State of West Virginia where she retired. She was a faithful and active member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was a keeper of the home and loved her family. She also enjoyed making scrapbooks and ceramics.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Joe Gresham (Diana) and George G. Gresham; grandchildren, Samantha, Stacey, Sara, Joey, Greg, Jeremy and Joshua; six great grandchildren as well as a host of other family and friends.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 305 E. Street, South Charleston, WV 25303 with Father Paul J. Wharton officiating. Martha will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston immediately following services.
Family and friends will gather for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service at the Church.
