Mary A. Ruffner

MARY A. RUFFNER passed away Friday, October 20, 2023, following an extended illness.
She was born in Charleston, WV, on August 21, 1948, to the late Bernard and Valerie Ruffner.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her three sisters and one brother-in-law, Catherine (Harry B. "Moke") Wagner, Joann Ruffner and Elizabeth Ruffner.
Mary is survived by her brothers, William and wife Marie of California, and Robert and wife Diane of New Jersey. Although Mary did not have any biological nephews, she claimed special friends Bryan Luzader and Bob Wines of Charleston as her own. Mary worked for The Diamond Department Store until they closed and then became a buyer for Stone & Thomas until they closed their store in Charleston. Mary then went to work for BB&T Bank and retired after 15 years of service.
To honor Mary's wishes, she will be cremated and interred beside her family at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
There will be a private committal service with family and special friends at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in memory of Mary to the Basilica of the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.
