The sweetest angel on earth gained her wings early this morning.
NATALIE PEZZANITE PHILLIPS, 97 of Charlton Heights, WV, went to be with the Lord and Savior on March 14, 2024. Natalie was the daughter of the late Larry Vincent and Anna Georgia Pezzanite and was born in Alderson, WV on December 20, 1927. Natalie was the youngest sister to Geraldine, Theda, Pauline, Lillian, Melba, Maxine and was the older sister to her only brother, Larry Vincent Jr (Nunor).
Natalie was preceded by her parents, 6 sisters, 1 brother, her husband, Bob "Pommy Joe", her son, Robert Larry "Togo", grandchildren Anthony and Robby, Alicia and Jayden.
She was the mother to David (Sue), Joan (Robert "Bob"), Becky (Robert "Dan"), Donna (Lee), Barbara (Tom), Robert Larry "Tago", Verna and Tim (LeAnn). Natalie and her husband, Robert Lee Phillips, were high school sweethearts. They were married for 64 years as of February 5, 2008, the date of Robert passing. They had 3 sons and 5 daughters, had 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 1 great great-granddaughter.
With all these children around, our family gatherings were never boring nor were there any empty chairs. With the help of our Dad (Pommy Joe), there was never a boring moment. Laughter ran wild in the Phillips' household. The talk among the adults in the Church she attended, was that the Phillips' household was like a major war zone and if you can survive one night at the house, you can make it anywhere. Pleased to report that everyone that stayed one night walked away the following morning without major damage.
Natalie and the family attended the Worldwide Church of God for over 30 years. The past 10 or so years she attended the Grace Communion International Church.
Natalie received her certificate for Hotel Management in December 1964 and soon after she started working in various restaurants and hotels in Gauley Bridge area. Her last place of employment was the Glen Ferris Inn. She worked there approximately 20 years before retiring as General Manager. She loved music especially the piano. Her mother played for the silent movies, so of course Mom was taught by her mother. Her favorite book was the Bible. She read her Bible nearly every night before going to bed.
Not only was Natalie a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, according to her doctor she was a National Treasure. All that knew her loved her.
Granny, as she was affectionately known, was the light of our family. We were very blessed to have had her as our mother. She was always there to patch the many holes in our bodies, when needed, after a good day of playing and was the best cook in the state!
Let us all remember the past we had with gratitude, live the present with joy in knowing that she is with love of her life, Dad. We love and we will miss you forever. Kiss Dad for us. Now fly away with the angels Mom.
