Paula Renee Morris

04/13/1957 - 08/15/2025.

Paula passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of 08/15/2025 leaving behind her spouse, Connie Hutchinson, her dog Sophie, her best friend Gerald Bragg, that she loved like a son, many family members to include her Aunt Yolonda Canterbury (Romie), Aunt Bonnie Burke, many cousins. Dear friends, Bryan and Rob, Byron and Craig, Billy and Eric and many, many friends and coworkers she has met in her lifetime.

Paula was proceeded in death by her mother Retha Burke Morris and father, her maternal grandmother, Freda Burke Pullens, Aunt Brenda Faber (Bill) and her beloved dog Scarlett.

Paula had a long, rewarding career as a psychiatric nurse, working in many different roles at Highland Hospital from floor nursing to management and supervision.

Paula moved to Florida in 2014 and worked for Wekiva Springs Psychiatric Hospital in Jacksonville Florida, supervising 120 bed facility until her retirement in Thomaston, GA.

Paula will be greatly missed by all.

A celebration of life will be held at DuPont Middle School

on September 21st at 1:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

I knew Paula when I lived in WV. I always thought she was a wonderful person and kind to everyone who knew her. Rest in peace and I know you will have a beautiful flower bed when you get there. My condolences to Connie her wife and all the family members.

I love and miss Paula so much. She was a wonderful coworker who became a beloved friend and like a sister. She will be forever missed.
