Raymond Stanley Terrell

RAYMOND STANLEY TERRELL, also known as "Private" departed this earthly life on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at home while battling cancer. Raymond was born on January 9, 1957, in Montgomery, West Virginia. He graduated from Gauley Bridge High School. Shortly after High School, in 1976, Raymond enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and later was stationed in Germany for several years. He was a Motor Transport Operator. He retired from the Army in 1982 with Honors.
Raymond was passionate about his job as a CNA where he worked at for several nursing facilities in the Charleston area while being an active Member of the Army National Guard in Falls View, West Virginia. He took great pride in taking care of others. He took exceptional pride in his appearance and everything he wore had a iron crease with his boots noticeable from the lessons he learned in his drill days in the Army. He loved his San Francisco 49ers and his Lifetime movies.
Raymond was loved by so many and he loved hard. Raymond is preceded in death by his Father: William Hollins, Mother: Dorothy Wright, Brothers: Lil Buck and Ronald Dewayne Terrell, Sister: Roberta Wright. He is survived by his Sons: Monoa Jones and Gregory Woods (Buchie), of West Virginia, Daughter: Brieanna Terrell of Columbus, Ohio, and many Grandchildren. Brothers: Dallas Terrell, Roy Terrell, Robert Wright of Columbus, Ohio, Kenneth Terrell and Danny Terrell of Montgomery, West Virginia, Sisters: Barbara Wright of Columbus, Ohio, and Vannessa Terrell and Maxie Terrell of Montgomery, West Virginia. You will forever be in our hearts.
Services will be held at 12 p.m., on Monday, August 25, 2025, at O'Dell Funeral Home in Montgomery, WV, with Reverend Paul Spillman officiating. Burial will follow at Donel C. Kinnard State Veterans Cemetery in Dunbar, WV. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service.
