Reba Adams Obituary
After a long illness, former public school teacher REBA MARIE WORKMAN ADAMS of Nitro, WV (formerly of Eleanor) passed away at the age of 89 on May 5, 2025.
Our family wishes to thank the angelic staff at Hubbard Hospice House West for their attentive care and kindness. Thanks also goes to Valley Center Nursing Home, in Spring Hill, for their many years of dedicated care.
Reba was preceded in death by her WW2 veteran husband, John H. Adams, and is survived by daughter Rebecca A. Revercomb (Steve, former son-in-law) and three grandsons John, Will, and Sam. Also surviving is Reba's son John H. Adams, Jr. (Lisa) and two grand daughters: Sarah Baisden (Nathan), newborn great granddaughter Leah, and Hannah Rainey (Isaac.)
Those who knew Reba may recall she didn't suffer fools, and wouldn't hesitate to tell you so. She was quite the athlete, also, and could sink successive basketball three-pointers, even at an advanced age. As a tutor, Reba was very effective at helping students labeled unreachable by the school system.
There will be an informal, one-hour gathering for "Reba Stories" at Cooke Funeral Home (Nitro) on Friday, May 16, 5 - 6 pm.

When I was a young girl and wanted to talk to someone with an open mind and strong opinion I never had farther to go than our front porch and Reba next door in her front yard. She never failed to give me her undivided attention. Rest in peace Reba
