Reba Pitsenbarger Obituary
Reba graduated from college with both a bachelor's and a master's degree. She spent her 40 plus year career as an elementary school teacher, touching the lives of countless children in the Elkview, Pinch, Quick area.
Reba dedicated her life to her teaching and to her community. She assisted in getting a playground established at the school she taught and retired from (Pinch Elementary), had bells put in at her home church (Jarrett Memorial United Methodist), and was always gathering items for families in need. Reba loved to sing and was a member of the Coleman Choir in Beckley, the Coleman Quartet, and her church choir at Jarrett Memorial UMC where she was a long-time member.
Reba is survived by her son and his wife, Richard and Brett Deyerle, her step-son Keven Pitsenbarger; grandchildren Keven Pitsenbarger II, Garrett Bostic, Reba Deyerle (Wesley), Danielle Thomas, Rosemary Campbell (Marcus), Colbie Pitsenbarger, and Kaitlyn Bostic; great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Linda (Wade) Halsey of Chillicothe, OH, and Carolyn Whitt of Seaford, DE, and several nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Jessica Sears with Right at Home and the doctors and nurses at Hospice Care of West Virginia. Thank you also to Rosemary and Marcus Campbell for taking care of her to the end so she could remain in her home.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 2 p.m., at Hafer Funeral Home. Reba had a love of animals so in lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Kanawha Charleston Humane Association (or your local animal shelter).

I taught with Reba at Pinch in the early 80´s. She was a wonderful teacher and had such a connection to the students and their families.
