Roy Wriston Obituary
ROY H. WRISTON, 87, of Elkview died on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at CAMC Memorial Hospital.
Roy was born on September 10, 1937, on Paint Creek at Burnwell, WV. He was the son of the late Henry A. Wriston, and Effie Massey Wriston.
Roy graduated from East Bank High School in 1957. He resided at Winifrede for 23 years where he was a member and past deacon of Winifreded Freewill Baptist Church and attended Big Chimney Baptist Church.
He was a retired supervisor of Transportation with 34 years of service with Kanawha County Schools. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and doing things for other people.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Gail; sister, Mary W. Kees; and brother, Fraizer Cliffton Wriston.
He is survived by wife, Jodie Wriston; stepdaughters; Cheryl L. Cabell and Tim of Culloden, Terrie D. Humphry and Ken of Cross Lanes, Barbara G. Owens of Dunbar, and Alisha R. Fisher and Steve of Red House; two nieces, and 11 step grandchildren, 15 great-step grandchildren, and several nephews.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m., on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Cliff Curry officiating. The burial will follow at Greencastle Cemetery in Mahan.
Visitation will be from 12 - 1 p.m., on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Hafer Funeral Home.
