Sherman Bobbit Obituary

SHERMAN RAY BOBBITT, 90, formerly of Kanawha Falls, WV, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11th, 2025, where he was surrounded by all his family.
He was born in Elkridge, WV on January 23rd, 1935 to the late William and Grace Bobbitt.
Sherman was an 8-year veteran of the United States Air Force, where he was a crew chief for the C-124 Globemaster cargo aircraft. His Air Force career took him to all 7 continents and all 50 states.
He retired from West Virginia Tech as the Co-operative Education Director after 30 years of service.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sandra Bobbitt of Byron, GA; grandchildren, Courtney Avery and husband, Michael (great-grandchildren, Briggs and Chapel); Hunter Bobbitt; and Rebecca Bobbitt: son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Sandra Bobbitt of Warner Robins, GA; grandchildren, James Bobbitt and wife, Hillary (great-grandchildren, Miles and Ryan Bobbitt); Jacob Bobbitt and wife, Payton (great-grandson, Monty); and Katie Bobbitt: son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Amy Bobbitt of Kathleen, GA; grandchildren, Maddy Bobbitt and Michael Bobbitt: his sister, Midge Hartwell of Mankato, MN; and brother, Ron Bobbitt of Mount Carbon, WV and several nephews and nieces.
Private services will be held in Warner Robins, GA where he and his late wife, Rosie, lived for the past 4 years after moving to be closer to their children. Additionally, a celebration of life for Sherman and Rosie will be held in Montgomery, WV on May 3rd.
