Shirley Persinger Obituary

SHIRLEY SUE PERSINGER 85 of Smithers, WV left this world to join her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 21, 2025.
Shirley was born to Lawrence and Rhoda Moore in Longacre WV, who both preceded her in death. Others greeting her in Heaven include stepmother Ethel Moore, and brothers Bobby, Billy, David, Kenneth, and Tommy.
Shirley was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family was the shining light in her eyes. She is survived by her two sons Kenneth Persinger and James Persinger (Donna), both of Smithers WV; sisters Ela Kitchen, Lynda Lett, and Kathy Moore Falbo of Nitro; grandchildren Courtney Saunders (John), Syless Persinger, and Kord Mullins (Katherine); great-grandson Eli Saunders; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends that had the pleasure of knowing Shirley through her walk in life.
Shirley was a nursing assistant for many years at the Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center- an accomplishment that gave her great happiness to reflect on. She was a devout Christian who attended The Smithers Church of Jesus Christ for many years. She was a woman who emulated the teachings of Jesus, sharing her love with all who knew her. Most of all, Shirley loved her family- spending time with them was a cherished treasure she held close to her heart.
Funeral Service for Shirley will be 1 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ, Smithers WV with Pastor Hubert Harper officiating.
Friends may visit an hour prior to the service at noon to share in the celebration of Shirley's life and her heavenly homecoming.
