Thomas Meadows Obituary

74, of Charleston passed away September 17, 2025 after a long battle with a brain tumor.

Tom was a 1969 graduate of Dupont High School where he was a member of the student council, wrestling team, chess club, chorus and drama clubs. Upon graduation, he entered West Virginia Institute of Technology (now WVU Tech), earning a BS in Electrical Engineering (1974). Tom's work endeavors included Columbia Gas Transmission Company, NiSource, Chesapeake Energy, Access Midstream Partners and Williams Pipeline. While working full time, he earned his MBA from Mashall University as well as being a Registered Professional Engineer and Electrician in multiple states. Tom had several articles published in the Gas and Oil journals.

During his early years in college Tom enjoyed drag racing with his friends at the local drag strips. During the 1980's, he became a Junior Achievement advisor to many young future entrepreneurs. Tom enjoyed woodworking, black powder rifles, listening to his favorite Rock and Roll albums, mountain biking and maintaining the trails in Kanawha State Forest where he loved spending time riding. He was a frequent rider in the annual MS bike rides and enjoyed perfecting his "Bike Wreck Chili" in numerous Chili Cook-offs. He and Lois hosted numerous foreign exchange students from Denmark over the years.

Preceding him in death were his infant son, Thomas Edwin Meadows and parents, John S. Jr. and Nellie Louise Ward Meadows.

Surviving are his wife, Lois J. Meadows; daughter, Terri Holland (Tom) of Beaverton, Oregon; brothers, David Meadows (Stephanie) of Denver, Colorado, Robert Meadows (Debbie) and Johnny Meadows all of Belle; sister, Linda Dye (Bradley) of Valrico, Florida and three grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to his brother, John and family friend, Cheryl McCallister who helped make Tom's last year's comfortable and Nancy Duncan and the staff at Montgomery Rehab and Nursing Home.

In keeping with Tom's requests, his cremation wishes will be honored and the family will have a Celebration of Life gathering at a later date.
