Wilfredo Molano Obituary

WILFREDO N. MOLANO, age 82, passed away on April 28, 2025 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Born on November 17, 1942 in Lingayen, Pangasinan, Philippines, he is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years Helen of Infanta and Lingayen, Pangasinan, his loving daughter Jennifer, and his son-in-law Matthew.
Wilfredo was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Maria Purification Molano, brothers Jaime (Alegria), Rodulfo (Consuelo), Arnold (Marita), and Edward Molano, sister Florangel Molano-Malubag, sister-in-law Ester Viray, and brother-in-law Efren Viray. Wilfredo also will be forever in the hearts of his sisters-in-law, Gloria Viray and Josephine Rosario, brothers-in-law Cesar (Florence), Leonidas, Vicente (Keri) and Florante (Frida) Viray and their families, as well as his innumerable nieces, nephews, grand
nieces, grand nephews, godchildren, and extended family.
After receiving his medical degree at Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines, Wilfredo came to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to further his medical studies. He served as a solo general medical practitioner for 37 years in West Virginia with clinics in Hurricane, Hamlin and Sissonville, and he concluded his career as the medical director of the Huntington Treatment Center.
His many accomplishments included becoming Chief of Staff at Putnam General Hospital (now Charleston Area Medical Center Teays Valley Hospital) and leading a medical mission to the province of Pangasinan in the Philippines as president of the Tri-State Filipino-American Association of West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky. His legacy lives through the kindness that he cared for his patients, the generosity towards those whom he loved, his dedication to his family and friends, and his service to the community - all of which were driven by his steadfast Catholic faith. He was devoted to the Infant Jesus Santo Nino and enjoyed adventures traveling to Catholic sites across the world with his wife, including Lourdes, Assisi, Fatima, and many others, even traveling from Rome to Prague by train.
He loved singing, dancing, and watching college and professional sports, including football, basketball, hockey, golf, tennis, and wrestling.
