Barbara Ethel Johnson

Barbara Ethel Fields Johnson, age 68, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025 in a Richlands, Virginia hospital. She was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Ernest Fields and Ethel Marie Helton Fields. She was a life long resident of the Richlands area and was a member of the Crossroads Community Church on Ravens Nest Branch. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend to all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Michelle Shinall; son, Kevin Paul Johnson; granddaughter, Tracy Dawn Johnson; and several sisters and brothers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors are: Her Husband of 51 years: Carl Joe Johnson Daughters: Angelia Collins and husband, Scott of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Kaitlyn Elkins and husband, Tanner of Raven, Virginia Emily Johnson and daughter, Everleigh of the home Sons: Christopher Shawn Johnson and fiancée, Elizabeth Hall of Atkins, Virginia Nicholas Wade Johnson of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Carl Jeffrey Johnson and wife, Leta of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Bryan Jason Johnson and wife, Stephanie of Bluefield, WV Tyler Blake Johsnon and Jess Joseph of Richlands, Virginia Son In Law: Elmer Shinall of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Special Friends: Shirleen Hagy, Melinda Lloyd, Daphene Boyd, Jane Smith Several Grandchildren and One Great Grandson on the way. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive as well as her loving church family. Funeral services for Barbara Ethel Johnson will be conducted Monday, October 13, 2025 at 2pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Rick Pruitt and Rev. Lisa Haywood officiating. Burial will follow at the Shinall Family Cemetery in Wardell, Virginia. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
