Hazel Yvonne Boyd

Hazel Yvonne Boyd, age 81, of Whitewood, Virginia, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025 at her home. She was born in Whitewood, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Gallie Keen and Ruthie Boyd Keen. She was a lifelong resident of the Whitewood area and had been a former seamstress at Jacqueline Manufacturing, as well as a Rover at LEER Corporation in Lebanon, Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wallace Boyd; her sisters, Sylvia Keen and Mary Ethel Shook; and her brothers, Charlie Lee Keen and his wife, Shirley Keen, and Dewey Ralph Keen. Survivors are: Daughters: Cheryl Lynn Boyd Thomas and husband, Keith of Magnolia, Ohio Rita Sue Boyd Sullivan and husband, John of Pounding Mill, Virginia Sisters: Carmie Hobbs of Whitewood, Virginia Mavis Gaynelle Horn of Newland, NC Brother: Walter Roger Keen and wife, Janet of Hacienda Heights, California Grandchildren: Nicholas Ryan Thomas, Michael Christopher Thomas, Kaitlyn Sullivan Funeral services for Hazel Yvonne Boyd will be conducted Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 2pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Bill Breeding officiating. Burial will follow at the Grizzle Family Cemetery at Whitewood, Virginia. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may visit with the family from 12pm until 2pm on Saturday prior to the funeral at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
