Heather Howell

MATOAKA - Heather Marie Howell, 51, of Matoaka, took her Savior's hand on August 28, 2025, trusting fully in the promises of Christ. Born March 26, 1974, she was the daughter of the late Gaston Willie Walker, Sr. and Rita Joyce Walker. Heather was a 1992 graduate of Spanishburg High School. Heather was an active member of The Bridge Baptist Church and loved to spread the word of God through song. She was known for her infectious laugh, bright smile, and constant jokes. Heather made it her mission to find the small joys in each day - and when those joys were hiding, she hunted them down with a strawberry blizzard (extra strawberries, of course) from Dairy Queen. Following closely under the guidance of God, Heather strived each day to make the lives of those around her better. She carried with her the remarkable ability to make every person feel special, loved, and worthy of living. After a bad day, anyone could run into Heather's arms and know that they were home. To know Heather was to know warmth, unconditional love, and a clean home. In addition to her parents, Heather was preceded in death by her nephew, Levi Walker. She leaves behind family and friends who walk in the hope of following her example of kindness, including her loving husband of 26 years, Adam Howell; her daughter, Madison Howell, whom she often described as the light of her life; two brothers, Josh Walker and his girlfriend, Sandy, of Spanishburg, and Willie Walker, Jr. of Parkersburg; niece and nephew, Gracie and Westin Walker, both of Princeton; her mother-in-law, Marsha Howell of Matoaka; her stepdaughter and husband, Alicia and Alan Vest of Matoaka; her step-granddaughter, Allison Shagoury, and her daughter, Tinley; as well as her special aunts, Reba Wright and Mary Porterfield, both of Princeton. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princetown with Rev. Tom Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from noon until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
