James "Red" Blevins

Chilhowie, VA James Ralph "Red" Blevins passed away on August 22, 2025, at Valley Healthcare and Rehab in Chilhowie, VA. Mr. Blevins was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and owned Red's Used Cars in Chilhowie, VA, for many years. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Brenda J. Blevins; infant daughter, Candace M. Blevins; mother, Lillian Collins; son-in-law, Darrell Wolfe; granddaughter, Stormie Kolle; and brother, Dewey "Eddie" Collins. Survivors include his son, Curtis Johnson and Kirsten Martinson; daughter, Nanette Davis and husband Bill; daughter, Kristi Wolfe; brother, Jack Blevins and wife Susie; sister, Judy Duncan and husband Cecil; uncle, Clarence "Pop" Blevins; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, at Bradley's Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie, VA, with Pastor Craig Barber officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside services will follow at Middle Fork Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist with funeral expenses. Following the graveside service, the family will host a gathering from 5-7PM to celebrate James's life at the Chilhowie Park. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com.
