James Gillespie Obituary

James Garnett Gillespie, age 62, of Bandy, Virginia, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025 at his home. He was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the son of the late James Gillespie and Alice Jackson Gillespie. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was involved in the real estate industry for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Gillespie and Alicia Wilson. Survivors are: His Wife: Wanda Gillespie Grandchildren whom he raised: Lynsey Lilly and husband, Daniel Sawyers; Nicole Lilly, Elizabeth Lilly Smith and husband, Wyatt; and Samanta Lilly Grandchildren: Jacqueline Broughton, Michael Lilly, Damien Lilly, Finn Lee Smith, Forrest Allen Smith, Hasley Ortholf, Ashlyn Ortholf, Rowan Ortholf Step Sons: J.R. Lilly and wife, Geneva of Kentucky and Jess Lilly of Kentucky Two Special Great Grandchildren: Izzabella Sawyers and Greyson Sawyers Services will be private.
