Jeff Coomes Obituary

PRINCETON – Jeff Marvin Coomes, 56, of Princeton, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025. Born February 16, 1969, in Princeton, he was the son of the late Lester Coomes, the late Lela Walker Coomes, and Freda Woody Coomes of Lashmeet. Throughout his life, Jeff was a carpenter. He held a passion for motorcycles, hunting, riding his side by side, and listening to music. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed watching professional wrestling. He cherished his family and dedicated his final years to his grandsons. He was eagerly anticipating the birth of his first granddaughter. In addition to his biological parents, he was preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents; and several aunts and uncles. Those left to cherish his memory wife, Jennifer Howard Coomes, children, Stephen Coomes (Alli) of Princeton, and Kaitlin Coomes of Charleston; grandsons, Dante, Bryson, Blaze Coomes; granddaughter expected to arrive in June, Octavia Curasi; mother, Freda Woody Coomes; sisters, Melody Ponce, Lori Christian (David), both of Princeton; brother, Jim Coomes (Shannon) of Lashmeet; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; mother-in-law, Jeanette Asbury of Bluefield, VA. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services at the funeral home. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
