Margaret Hank Obituary
Margaret Jane (Campbell) Hank of Hinton, WV went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 9, 2025 at the age of 93. She passed peacefully in her sleep at the home she had lived in for 59 years.
Born on April 1, 1932 in Jumping Branch, WV, Margaret was the daughter of the late Jennings Bryan and Lottie Jane (Coulter) Campbell.
She graduated from Hinton High School in 1949 and was first employed as the first non-family worker at the original Dairy Queen in Hinton. She also worked as a telephone operator and medical clerk. Margaret attended Central Baptist Church and loved being around her family and friends. She volunteered as a reader in area grade schools early in her retirement and was an avid lifelong birdwatcher. Margaret was a joy to be around and will be sadly missed by all those who knew her.
Margaret was the last surviving member of her generation. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, William "Bill" Hank; a son, James Russell "Russ" Hank; daughter-in-law, Linda Weaver Hank; brothers, Buddy Campbell and Jack Campbell; sisters, Louise Lilly Simmons, June Neely, Bonnie Lilly, Jewell Lilly, and Barbara Thompson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Mark Hank of Reading, MA; grandchildren, Sara Hank of Hampstead, NC and Zachary Hank of Reading, MA; great grandchild, Paisleigh Wilson of Hampstead, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
The family extends a special thanks to the nurses of the Hospice of Southern West Virginia who loved and provided such great care for Margaret.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Friends may visit from 12:00 pm until the time of the service on Thursday at the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at the Greenbrier Burial Park Mausoleum.
Family and Chuck Gwinn will serve as pallbearers.
